What is the difference between Rye and Meadow haylage?

So apart from the obvious yellow bag for Rye or pink bag for Meadow there are a few main differences between the two types of haylage.

The Rye grass bales are higher in protein (10%)and more suited to horses or ponies in medium to hard work, where the Meadow grass bales are a softer haylage which is lower in protein (8%) and sugars (5%) making it more suited to horses or ponies in lighter work.
